South and City College Birmingham Named eFIXX College of the Year 2024

Nov 27, 2024 | Provider News

What an honour! South & City College Birmingham has been awarded the prestigious title of eFIXX College of the Year 2024, in stiff competition against 90 other worthy colleges. It is another recognition of the college’s commitment to excellence in training students for careers in electrical installation and renewable technologies.

The award from eFIXX, a respected digital platform for electricians, celebrates colleges that go above and beyond in delivering industry-relevant skills and practical training. Judges praised South & City College Birmingham for its hands-on approach, cutting-edge facilities, and strong partnerships with local and national businesses, which provide students with real-world experience and pathways to employment.

College Principal Mike Hopkins MBE expressed pride in the achievement, saying:

“Winning eFIXX College of the Year is a fantastic honour and recognises the hard work and vision of our staff and students. Our aim is to inspire the next generation of skilled electricians, and this award reinforces our commitment to that goal.”

The college’s focus on practical skills and future-oriented training has been key to our success. With our specialised facilities in Renewable Technology and our Electrical Installation Labs, students gain hands-on experience with the latest tools and technologies. That last one in particular is thanks to the help of employers like eFIXX. We are very proud to be leading the charge on Birmingham’s electrical future We will continue upskilling the next generation with dedicated electrical employers like eFIXX. We look to continue setting the electrical standard, not just for the West Midlands but nationally. This win is not only a testament to our high standards but also reinforces our role in supporting Birmingham’s local economy, by preparing students to meet the needs of industry and championing future green and digital initiatives.
