Welcome to BMet – where students are at the heart of everything we do.

BMet is proud to be home to thousands of bright and enthusiastic students, supported by a team of talented and experienced staff. We are passionate about providing qualifications and training that meet the needs of local employers and communities. Our goal is to prepare all our students for the world of work and life in both the present and the future.

Each of our colleges has a unique character, offering something for everyone. Our campuses are conveniently located with excellent transport links, and both James Watt College and Sutton Coldfield College offer free parking.

As one of the largest FE colleges in the region, we welcome approximately 16,000 learners annually across our three main campuses: James Watt College in Perry Barr, Matthew Boulton College in central Birmingham, and Sutton Coldfield College. JameS

Our learners span a diverse range of ages and ambitions. A third of our learners are aged 16–18 and enrolled on full-time programmes, while our adult learners benefit from part-time courses and professional development opportunities.

BMet offers a broad and flexible curriculum, including A Levels, T Levels, apprenticeships, access to higher education, entry-level courses, part-time adult professional development, and full- and part-time degree-level study programmes. We are committed to ensuring student success by shaping our curriculum to meet employer demand and addressing skills gaps across key industries.

Strong partnerships with employers are at the heart of what we do. BMet works closely with local and national businesses to ensure our students are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and experience employers need. Through initiatives like work experience, industry placements, and tailored training programmes, we bridge the gap between education and the workplace. By fostering these connections, we empower our learners to excel in their chosen careers while supporting businesses to grow and thrive.
